Privacy Policy
Effective August 2026. In plain language: what we collect, who can see it, and how to get rid of it.
What we collect
Your account. Signing in creates a free member account. You can sign in with a one-time link sent to your email address, or with Google. If you use Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture — never your password.
Your profile. You can add a display name and photo.
Events and chapters you create. If you submit an event or help run a chapter, we store and publish what you enter: titles, descriptions, dates, venues, images, schedules, speakers, and sponsors. These pages are public — that’s their purpose.
Chapters you join. We record which chapters you follow so we can show you what’s happening near you.
Location. The events map can use your device’s approximate location to show events near you. That happens only if you allow it, it stays in your browser, and we don’t store it. Decline and the map still works — you just pan it yourself.
Server logs. Our servers record standard request information, including IP address, for security and reliability.
What other people can see
Joining a chapter or helping run an event isn’t anonymous. Your display name and profile photo can appear on the public chapter and event pages you’re part of, and public pages can be found by search engines.
Your email address is never shown to other members. You can leave a chapter at any time from your dashboard, and your name comes off that page.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell your personal data, and we don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking on this site.
Service providers
Running ClawCamp takes a handful of outside services: website hosting, our database and sign-in system, email delivery for sign-in links, and maps. Each one handles data only to provide that service to us. A current list of providers is available on request.
Your choices
Your profile — edit or clear what you’ve added, any time you’re signed in. Chapters — leave one whenever you like. Location — revoke it in your browser or device settings. Your events — edit or unpublish anything you created.
Your account and your data — to see what we hold about you, correct it, or delete your account entirely, email support@clawcamp.org and we’ll take care of it.
Children
ClawCamp is intended for people 16 and over.
