Manage a chapter
Audience: Captains · Who can do this: a captain of the chapter, or an admin. Co-captains can't. Where in the app: the chapter's page (
/chapters/<slug>) → Manage chapter Status: draft. Last checked against: PR #401, #403 and #406 (2026-09-30).
Change what your chapter's public page says: its name, location, description, links and cover image. The same page holds the Team card, covered in Chapter team and captains.
Steps
- Open your chapter's public page and click Manage chapter. You see the button only if you're a captain of that chapter or an admin.
- Edit any of: Chapter name, City, State / Region, Country, Description, Cover image, Website URL, Luma URL, Discord URL, Instagram URL, LinkedIn URL and Facebook URL.
- Click Save changes. You'll see "Saved — your chapter is updated."

Any link field left blank is simply not shown. Website, Luma, Discord, Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook all render as small labeled buttons on the public chapter page, in that order, next to the Manage chapter button — only the ones that are set.
Good to know
- Saving with an empty required field, or a link that doesn't start with the scheme it needs, is rejected — nothing is saved, and the form shows what to fix.
- Co-captains don't get a Manage chapter button. If one opens the address directly, they see "Not available." Co-captains run the chapter's events instead; see Manage an event.
- Changes show on the public chapter page as soon as you save.
- Chapters can't be deleted from the site. If your chapter should close, ask ClawCamp.
